Refunds & Cancellations Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective 10 October 2026
1. What happens
- Before dispatch: you can cancel any order that hasn't been dispatched yet, at any time, for a full and immediate refund — no reason required, no seller cooperation needed.
- Once dispatched: you can no longer cancel through HoloLedger. If the card hasn’t arrived 7 days after dispatch, or arrives but isn’t as described, open a dispute (see our Dispute Policy).
- Dispute outcomes: a dispute results in either a full refund (100% of the item price, shipping, and the Buyer Protection fee), no refund, or withdrawal by you. There are no partial refunds.
- No structured return-of-card workflow: a successful dispute does not require you to physically return the card.
- Failed or interrupted checkout: if payment fails or is abandoned, no order or charge exists; the reserved stock releases automatically and the listing becomes purchasable again.
2. Statutory return rights
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, a 14-day statutory cancellation (“cooling-off”) right applies to distance contracts between a trader and a consumer. It does not apply to a genuine consumer-to-consumer (private seller) sale. HoloLedger currently operates as a marketplace for private-individual sellers only — see our Marketplace Terms §2 — which is the basis for the process described above. If you believe a seller is acting as a trader rather than a private individual, please report it — see our Moderation Policy.
Buying from a private seller still gives you legal rights: the card must match the seller’s description, and the seller must not mislead you. Our dispute process is how we help you, but it doesn’t take those rights away.
3. Summary for buyers
- a right to cancel before dispatch
- after dispatch, a full refund through HoloLedger comes from a successful dispute (not a “change of mind” return); your other legal rights against the seller are unaffected
- no partial refunds
- no return of the physical card is required for a successful dispute outcome
